Filling Buddha Statue/Stupa

Supplies

Instructions

The video shows how to fill Buddha statue. The essential prayers for holy objects will explain further on the topic.

We bless all the supplies, including the statue/stupa itself.

Wrap the statue's face in cotton wool carefully to protect the painting.

We pick any leftover resin inside the statue/stupa with a screwdriver or similar tool. We need to unblock the neck, smoothen the hole, break off, or file down any small metal protrusions, to reduce the number of obstructions to put the prayer rolls inside.

We clean the inside of the statue/stupa thoroughly with nice scented soap and water, rinse it well with water, and allow it to dry.

We burn Guggul resin underneath the statue/stupa and simultaneously throw the mustard seeds to remove negativity.

Rinse the inside of the statue/stupa with saffron water, and allow it to dry.

Paint the inside of the statue/stupa with a red color. While the paint is still wet, sprinkle some five metal powder, gemstone powder, and medicinal, herbal & incense powder.

Allow the paint to dry before filling the statue/stupa.

Fill the statue/stupa by inserting the appropriate prayers and substances in the correct order and in the correct places:

After we fill each layer of the statue/stupa, we pack tightly medicinal, herbal & incense powder amongst prayer rolls, filling every space.

We put juniper powder, five metal powder, gemstone powder, gemstones, and five seeds powder.

Finally, place the five maṇḍala wheels with Jambhala on the top (towards the Buddha statue head or the top of the stupa) and the heads of the deities directed towards the back of the statue/stupa. The Viśvavajra faces down toward the base of the statue/stupa like Jambhala. (so if they "stood up", they would face the same direction as the statue/stupa).

Cover everything with a saffron cloth, then close with eco-friendly glue, and seal the base of the statue/stupa with epoxy putty, so that no insects can gain access.

When filling a small statue/stupa wherein all the listed prayer rolls will not fit, the six dharmakāya relics and the five purification prayer rolls can be used throughout. The six dharmakāya relics prayer rolls to be used as much as possible.
